306 pages, 300 illustrations, size 8.25 x 10.75 inches, a previously unpublished manual from the Floyd Clymer archives. It includes complete technical data, service and maintenance information and comprehensive detailed instructions for the repair and overhaul of all major and minor mechanical and electrical components for the 1948 to 1961 Jaguar MK 7, MK 8, MK 9 and the XK120, XK140, XK150 automobiles.
This manual is broken down into the following sections: Engine, Carburetters & Fuel System, Ignition System, Cooling System, Clutch, Manual Gearbox, Overdrive, Automatic Transmission (both early & late variants), Rear Suspension, Rear Axle, Propeller Shaft, Front Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Electrical System and Body. Most of these sections include a preliminary 'Basic Diagnostic Testing & Troubleshooting' introduction that should be of assistance in diagnosing problems and thereby preventing unnecessary disassembly. More knowledgeable readers may want to skip these introductions and proceed directly to the 'Service' segment. There is also a comprehensive Appendix that includes General Data, Technical Specifications, Tuning Data, Lubrication & Routine Maintenance Data and Wiring Diagrams for all models and their variants.
Profusely illustrated with 300 illustrations there is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete mechanical renovation making it an invaluable resource for collectors and restorers of these iconic automobiles.
