About the Author:

Rosina Rucci was born and raised in South Philadelphia. A graduate degree in Journalism from that city's Temple University led to work in Rome, Italy where she served as Promotions Manager for the children's channel of the ORBIT Satellite Television and Radio Network. An extraordinary twelve years of life in Rome gave her knowledge of the city, fluency in the Italian language, and her adored son Luca who was born there in 1997. Though South Philadelphia is her beloved birthplace, Italy is her true home and though leaving it in 2003 was difficult, she was thrilled at the chance to work alongside her brother, renowned fashion designer, Ralph Rucci of New York City, as Director of Communications. She has since returned to South Philadelphia, where she currently resides, where her son attends school and where this deeply personal story was born.
