Alizabeth Michel, M.D. studied psychology at Wellesley College at the University of Chicago before graduating from Yale Medical School in 1975. After residency and Board Certification in Family Medicine, she practiced medicine part-time while raising her children. From 1988 to 1992 she studied at the San Diego Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis and subsequently developed and taught a course on anatomy and alignment for its trainees. Bent Out of Shape came into being from that course and her love of writing. A poet and weaver, Elizabeth enjoys living quietly with her husband amidst the beautiful flowers he grows in Encinitas, California.
