Grandpa in the Sky, Paperback

A gentle, rhyming picture book that supports young children experiencing the feeling of missing someone they love. After the loss of Grandpa, a child and their family find a comforting way to stay connected: writing letters about his adventures. These letters become a bridge between worlds, helping the child process emotions.

At its heart, the story reminds us that love continues even after loss, and that imagination can be a powerful healing tool. Remembering someone is a way of keeping them close, and there is no right way to grieve. Throughout, family connection provides comfort and strength. This book is particularly meaningful for children experiencing the loss of a grandparent or loved one, and for families looking for gentle ways to open conversations about grief. It's a trusted resource for educators and therapists supporting emotional wellbeing, and a thoughtful choice for anyone searching for a meaningful, comforting gift.

The story has strong PSHE and SEL relevance, supporting emotional literacy, empathy, and resilience in young readers. It serves as a useful resource for counsellors, teachers, and caregivers navigating bereavement with children, and works well in classroom settings to open conversations about feelings, memory, and change. Children are naturally inspired to extend their engagement by writing their own letters or drawing imagined adventures.
