Pregnant amputee Esther embarks on a journey with her husband to the abandoned railway station in the highlands that they will call home. Over the week that follows Esther's marriage, perceptions and physical form change as she explores the bordering forest, with folk-tale archetypes deployed expertly in this Gothic debut.
