Mauprat, Paperback

Mauprat is a novel by George Sand that was first serialised in 1837. It is a love story that resists the courtship conventions of its time and focuses on the education of Bernard Mauprat by his love interest, Edmée. The powerful story challenges the notion of a passive female role in courtship and is an important feminist novel of the 19th century.
